Thanks to all the SCVA veteran members and Santa Cruz community supporters who came out to clean up Twin Lakes Beach with us!
Our team was surprised and deeply appreciative of the community support for the SC Veterans Alliance, our mission, and the more than 350 California veterans that we currently serve through our Veteran Compassion Program. You can see the public record of testimonials given by veterans and community members during the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors meeting on June 28, 2016 in this video:

We had a busy June with a lot of new members joining us! For our team, this month was really about connecting with new members, but also about raising awareness about PTSD. June is PTSD Awareness month and we as combat veterans are dedicated to shedding light on how it affects veterans and how to treat its symptoms for relief. Our second meeting in June was also a BBQ celebration for families and supporters including a big raffle for our veteran members!
On Monday, May 2 and Monday, May 16 our meetings had a great turnout from members! We’re happy to see more veterans from other counties traveling to visit our meetings. Our team is so appreciative of the continued support from local producers in the Santa Cruz area that donate medicine for the veterans. Here’s a look at the donated medicine that went in each recipient’s bag with additional SCVA flowers!
