The folks over at IAVA were kind enough to set up a VetTogether at Cambrian Bowl in San Jose. Everyone that came out enjoyed pizza and bowling. I for sure needed the bumpers in play. Big shout out to Army veteran Abe for being the high scorer of the night! I had such an amazing time and cant wait to get out to more VetTogethers and meet more veterans in the local community.

Santa Cruz Veterans Alliance

Santa Cruz Veterans (SCVA) is a medical cannabis collective serving Santa Cruz county veterans. The cannabis grown for our veteran patients is what we have found best for our injuries sustained from service. In staggering numbers troops are returning home with physical and mental injuries. The standard treatment practices for these injuries is heavy prescription medications which sometimes lead to worse symptoms. A new approach to healing after war is desperately needed.

Many veterans are finding cannabis as a safe alternative medicine to antidepressants and pain killers. With new methods of medicating, is is much easier and accessible for veterans to enjoy the benefits of medical cannabis. Please check out our New to Medical Cannabis page for information.

If you are a veteran and would like to enroll in our compassion program, please visit our Cannabis Corps page for information. Veterans who attend Cannabis Corps meetings can expect a care package of high grade cannabis flowers, edibles, and more! Big thanks to the industry leaders like Big Pete’s Treats, Kaizen Medicinal, and Utopia Meds who also donate medicine to our veterans. Please contact us today if you would like to donate veterans who attend our meetings. 100% of your donation goes to veterans who attend meetings.

We look forward to working hard to provide only the best in medical cannabis for veterans of the Santa Cruz county this new year. This year holds many new projects for our team and we cannot wait to share them with you!

Veteran Compassion Program Meeting Recap 19 Jan 2015

Monday’s meeting on the 19th was our second meeting of the year. We had a full house with many new and old members. A very special thank you to all the veterans who brought a new battle buddy to the meeting. The great people behind Snow puffs medicated popcorn, Utopia meds, and Kaizen Medicianl stopped by to show their support of the veterans for cannabis movement with some awesome donations.

Snow Puffs dropped off four boxes of their new medicated microwavable popcorn for everyone to tryout. Utopia Meds was kind enough to bring us a sample of their new medicated chocolate truffles with a 15mg and 45mg sample! The Kaizen Medicinal crew donated indica THC capsules dosed at 50mg, excellent for veterans that need aid in sleep in a convenient capsule form. Kaizen also had a surprise up their sleeve with donating a daily months supply of extracted cannabis into organic coconut oil to one of our veterans who suffers sever disabilities from their service. Big Pete’s Treats donated another batch of delicious chocolate chip cookies for everyone to take home.

Weed4WarriorsProject, a veterans cannabis advocacy group based in San Jose stopped by and updated us on their recent Southern California event for veterans at the 420 Fire Department in Santa Ana on the 18th.

Hempcon in San Jose is this weekend starting this Friday and end this Sunday. I will be attending on Friday with a group of veterans who attend our Cannabis Corps meetings. Come hang out and meet an amazing group of vets who have found amazing benefits from medical cannabis. I will also be reaching out to vendors who would like to continue to lead the way in compassion care by donating to our group of veterans. If you would like to donate contact us here.

This last meeting had an excellent turn out and I would like to thank all the veterans who show up and everyone who donates to them. Snow Puffs, Big Pete’s, Utopia, and Kaizen are true industry leaders with continued compassion. Your support makes this community thrive.

Our next meeting will be at KindPeoples on Monday the 9th starting at 6:30PM/1830. I look forward to seeing everyone there!
